Whats the Gillan and stresnakova background history here?

Admittedly, I was being slightly tongue-in-cheek but (assuming my memory hasn't been clouded by a different match) they did in fact have a heated argument during a UK Pro League encounter, followed by a rather frosty handshake at the end. Can't recall the context of the dispute, however.

Raath's adventure ends after exactly 60 minutes. 6-1 6-0 the final score and a lopsided 54/24 point split. Raath showed flashes of potential and, as I alluded to earlier, the point construction was generally sound if not the execution. But her opponent had too much easy power, cracked off some decent winners, and wasn't put off by Raath's forays to the net during the second set. Even when Raath stayed in the point, Koevermans was usually able to wear her down. Still, Raath will probably feel annoyed with herself for missing a few volleys and overhitting at times.

The Raath serve was also a bit of a shocker today (she won only 8/22 first serve points) and perhaps a bit too pedestrian for this level, though it looks like it could be improved with some sound technical coaching. All that said, that was far from the worst performance I've seen from a British player in ITF qualifying.

Meanwhile, Stresnakova surged back in the second set and took it 6-3, which prompted Gillan to have a tactical toilet break of her own.

Hmm. For some reason an interruption in Gillan/Stresnakova. Stresnakova was 15-0 on her service game, there was some sort of delay with Gillan doing something off screen, and then the umpire came off his chair to have a brief word with Stresnakova, with both players then sitting down. Umpire chatting to officials, but I can't work out the reason for the delay, though it doesn't appear to be a player conduct thing. No obvious damage to the court.

Christie takes the first set over Paskauskas 6-4. It's been a good competitive match between the two of them.

And now the match is over? Both players seems fine but both walking off.

Who won? Or is it the court and it's been moved? What a blinkin' match.....

So the match is still live and Stresnakova just won her service game, but it has been moved somewhere else. When they vacated the court it was occupied by two other players who begun a hitting session while a couple of coaches watched from the sidelines and shortly afterwards I lost the stream. Oh well.

Stresnakova was probably more annoyed because at the time of the stoppage she seemed to be the more energetic player and was making inroads into the Gillan serve, although she has now broken Gillan again anyway.

why would they do that? Move a live match for someone else to have a hitting session? Am I missing something?!

Hannah's WC appears confirmed. Reeds has posted "Ready to go again in Glasgow".

Personally I think Hannah should take a rest. Two senior comps one after another seems like a lot of pressure on a young 14 year olds body. Plenty of time ahead.

And shes's got the junior BJ Cup afterwards

I tend to agree

But I expect she's got a full team for her care, and her MD wildcard was never in question if she wanted to play so at least she's avoided qualis.

So it's three points for one win and an extra two points for the second win in W60 Qualies
