Marni is certainly not playing at the standard of a 432 ranked player, 100 would be closer. So long as she remains fit it will be interesting to see how she performs tomorrow against someone inside the top 100.
Marvellous. Well done Marni - being frank Id only ever seen her name once or twice before this week and really have little clue about her, but she seems to be doing very well here !
Back in 2019 Amarni was one of 4 young British players supported by Peugeot. The others were Victoria Allen , Harry Wendelken and Blu Baker. Also in January 2020 she had a wild card into qualifying in Adelaide where she lost to the then 68th ranked player Daria Kasatkina in 3 sets. Prior to Shrewsbury this week her only other match against a top 100 player was Tatjana Maria at Shrewsbury last year.
Hannah's got all the headlines this week yet Amarni's great form has come almost out of nowhere, hopefully she can stay injury free to build on it.
When the commentator described Katy Dunne and Marni as being the two most injured players ever she was being rather comical - but she had a point (although Katie Swan would probably want to be in that list, too, and fingers crossed not Emma but who knows....)
I mean, who has eight abdominal tears? And then all the lower back problems, as well as a host of other things.
But she's young, as you say, hopefully it might have been part of the growing phase and getting sorted out....
She's had a lot of fans on here so it would be great for her now to have the chance to cement that potential a bit

Giving what you were saying about the physios, it would seem a massive area for improvement for the LTA having experts in physiotherapy, biomechanics, fitness for tennis (as opposed to general fitness trainers). It surely can't be coincidence the number of injuries we have, particularly among our female players and from such a young age. It's all very well putting funding into general support for travelling, coaching etc but surely if they could play more they'd be able to earn more money themselves from winning matches. I know you know a lot about the young French players CD, do they have a better support system or is it a universal problem and I notice it more because it's our players?
