What an exciting find is Hannah Klugman. Hope she is well cared for and gets to move forward at her pace. Plenty of time to make it big.

She's a long way from winning this but that was a super first set and a clutch tie-break, with Dodin having several set points, and an easy chance on at least one of them

First set, Marni

Marni gets the break

BUT now she's got the trainer for a lower back issue (it looks like)

And she has had SO many lower back issues - and EIGHT abdo tears, according to the commentators yesterday

Whoever has been coaching Marni in recent months has done an amazing job.

The good bits of Marni's game are the same as they always were, IMO

She always had some amazing shots, real class winners, the same forehand and serve

BUT she made SO many errors it was just frustrating beyond belief at times - you never knew whether it was to do with lack of training coz of injuries, or just poor footwork and shot selection etc

Marni was working with Helen Parish over Wimbledon so maybe the credit should go to Helen

What a wonderful win

Form Liverpool J5, with Emma Raducanu, as 13/14 year-olds, Marni has been threatening - one day - to come good

And today might be that sea-change day

WHo was in the coaching seat today ?

It's a pity the sound balnce wasn't right - the on-court mike was very loud and the interview mikes were inaudible (watching on Youtube).
