Harriet won't want to be the one that ends Olivia's winning run with British partners. She's won her last 3 doubles tournaments with Jodie, Sam and Heather. Next week it's Freya's turn! I'm wondering if someone's challenged her to how many different Brits can she win consecutive doubles tournaments with?

You may have something there ! Five different partners in five weeks could well be a record. It's a stronger entry for Glasgow with Maia, Lily and Ali on the doubles advance list, plus an appearance from Nell Miller on the alternates list (with Eliz)
Just caught a bit of Sky Sports News. I notice they were reporting on Hannah Klugmans success this week, seemed to be the younger than Gauff angle.
Not surprising really. hardly anyone will ever have heard of Hannah but Gauff is a world wide star so the comparison in achievement at this age etc was inevitable considering the rather obscure record of Gauff that Hannah has eclipsed.
Frankly I'd rather Hannah stayed well out of the news for a few years yet and be allowed to develop without the press trying to "big up" the next British hopeful.

I agree about Hannah keeping a low profile but in reality the cat is out of the bag now and you cant be retrospective in going back to obscurity. Hannah had 1640 followers on Instagram, Mimi is more active and has only a little higher at 1900. Insta seems to be the best platform really to measure global media reach in tennis. Rafa is still top followed by Novak, and a certain Emma R (2.4m) is just behind Osaka who hasnt played for months but who is still really popular. Interesting that Emmas following had has increased slightly since she had had her injury break from tennis. I am sure Hannah will be getting lots of advice as to how to manage her growing celebrity status along with her peers. Fact if life now in the tennis elite.

Chalk and cheese, compared with the last match. Katie struggling with stiffness, I think. There was probably always going to be a reaction having not played for quite a while. Hopefully it subsides quickly. Lamens played well, but Swan wasn't at anywhere near the level she was against Galfi on Tuesday.

Wasn't too sure about the injury - there might have been something with the back of her neck, her right shoulder.... if so, that's just horrendous.....
I'd rather think it was a bit tight and she was just playing badly
But, yep, she looked so sure of herself on Monday, as though she was enjoying it, queen of the court...... and today, as you say, it was the exact opposite

The contrast at Wimbledon qualifying between Hannah and Mirra Andreeva was stark. Hannah was freely able to wander around without any attention, whereas Mirra was followed by a film crew seemingly wherever she went. I really hope Hannah manages to keep a bit under wraps for a while. It's awful to see the level of attention and we know from Emma how the media (and SM) treats you from hero to zero very quickly.
By playing the more high profile events, which she has to do, she is setting herself up for instant media attention if she does well. There's no getting round it.
My hope/belief is that her parents are very sensible people, with three other children, who will have known this was coming.
Unlike Emma, who went from zero to hero overnight, Hannah has bascially been the #1 player in the world for a couple of years. And although the press don't care about 12 year olds, it's not surprising to her camp that she's gone from top 12 year-old to top 14 year-old. So they will be prepared.
A lot of the 'gossip' in the tennis world is not about the media possibly being too much but about the LTA physios - lots of pretty pointed barbs telling her to avoid them like the plague.....

Really CD? Any particular reason to avoid the LTA physios? Is it connected to the number of injuries suffered by our younger players?

Who would be a professional athlete, with the constant battle to stay match fit. Katie plays amazing tennis when she is firing on all cylinders, the Surbiton wins earlier this year were so good. Nothing to do, but recover and go again.

Isn't Mirra Andreeva one of those players who is part of the netflix series?
For me though I'd like to see a relatively low profile in regards to Hannah for the next couple of years what bothers me a bit is that we're now getting comparisons to Gauff in the mainstream press and frankly this isn't helpful. I can see the usual UK press build up to knock down scenario happening unfortunately.

The stretches she was doing between points suggested to me she is still troubled by her back problems.

I think people are trying to be 'clever' - I've no idea about stats - but they may have a point, who knows....
Yes, they're certainly referring to Emma, as well as to Kyle, to Katie Swan .....
But mainly Emma - coz Hannah is sort of the 'new Emma' story for a lot of forum followers
Which might be a bit daft but....
And it's all very well for people to say they'd rather Harriet stay under the radar for a bit - and I expect nearly all of us would agree - but it's not going to happen. So the more relevant question is how she should manage it, given the fact that she IS going to be in the spotlight
But, again, I take conifdence from the fact that she hasn't got a big Instagram following (unlike Efremova or Sara or the other precocious and highly photogenic young tennis players). Nor (as far as I know) the high profile agency contracts - both Efremova and Sara are with IMG, I believe, and make quite a big thing about it.
