Katie is a set down 4-6

Her serve is letting her down again.

She was up 4-3 *30-0 and lost 8 points in a row.

Has just double faulted to lose the break in the second.

1-1*

Indeed. She served double faults on two occasions at break point down, the second of which gave the set away. Very disappointing

And she's broken twice on double faults in the second. A run of dreadful points from 30-0* at 2-2* gives Juvan the first hold of the set and that's probably pretty significant.

Well, that was a shambles. 11 double faults. Tiny flashes of brilliance but more than outweighed by the bad stuff.

Just not her day. Shame.

Katie may not have been successful in Seoul but I notice that Tara Moore's wife Emina Bektas has reached the semi finals and  a  career high ranking. No more news on Tara's suspension which goes back about 16 months now.

Sadly Eminas run came to an end with a 3 set defeat to Yuan in the SF. But shes had a great year in singles, moving from outside the top 300 to the cusp on the top 100, and her first WTA QF in Den Bosch and now her first SF.

Taras situation seems strange. Gatica who was suspended at the same event for similar results has, I think, had an outcome (suspension upheld)? Even if Tara has opted to retire from the sport, youd think there would be a formal response to the investigation?

Gatica's suspension is for a separate historic matter under the anti-corruption programme. Like Tara, there has never been any public disclosure of a ruling, if one has been made, for the anti-doping charge.

Good to see Leylah Fernandez win the Hong Kong title today, be great to see her get up the rankings
