The Top 10-12 Cat. 1 event at Bressuire takes place this week

Looking to follow up on her title last week, Freya Peet won her R1 easily

And Grace Chinwike and AlishaNdukwu also through to R2, with BYEs

J60 Albania

Jay Johnson-Hauldren lost in R1, as did Finbar McGarvey and Eric Ndreu, and Viviana Mucci in the girls

But Lucius Gutteridge got a win and is into R2

J30 Mexico

R1 win for Hector Fullone

J30 Madagascar

R1 win for Daisy Clifford

J30 Portugal

Megan Knight won 6-1 6-0

Not taking up too much court time - the tournament referee will be pleased

Looking to follow up on her J60 title last week, Freya Peet won her R2 in three sets, beating the 8th seed

She's also into the SFs of the doubles

Max Castle and Vlada Kozak won their R1 matches

Isabella Gibons lost

J60 Ghana

But three into the QFs is good going.... (and Grace and Alisha are only 14 years old)

J30 Madagascar

R2 win for Daisy Clifford

J30 France

R1 loss for James Hutchinson

J30 Sweden

(q) Louis Hull lost in R2 as did Kouros Anssarizadeh

Just to note that, as well as Megan's win, Dasha Jones also got a hard fought win, 7-5 in the third, and has also made the QFs

Dasha, like quite a lot of youngsters, is one of the TennisFirst grantees, but I don't know anything else about her

Top 10-12 Cat. 1 event at Bressuire

Megan lost 7-6(7) 6-4 against a 2012-born girl from Estonia, Elizaveta ANIKINA, who's been making a lot of waves, in the ultra junior tennis end of the spectrum. Good effort but she'll be disappointed, I expect.

However, GB's Dasha Jones - who I think may also be born in 2012 - thrashed her French opponent who has a national ranking of 15 (not 15th) which is pretty respectable for her age.

Dasha won 0 & 3 and is now into the QFs. Great showing.

Although she'll now play Darina MATVEJEVA who has played three matches and lost precisely ZERO games. Darina, from Latvia, born Oct. 2011, has won her last 6 tournaments at Tennis Europe level and is head and shoulders above nearly all the others of her age.

J100 Botswana

Freya Peet won her QF easily (although lost out in a MTB in the dubs SF)

J60 Ghana

QF loss for Tamara Kuti.

But 14 year-olds, Grace Chinwike and Alisha Ndukwu, both won their QFs.

Grace & Tamara are into the doubles final too. (Elizabeth Evans+ lost in the SFs)

J30 Madagascar

Daisy Clifford lost her semi-final in singles

Top 10-12 Cat. 1 event at Bressuire

Well, as reported yesterday, Darina MATVEJEVA (Latvia) had played her last three matches here and lost precisely ZERO games, (and only lost 2 games in her very first match), had won her last 6 tournaments at Tennis Europe level and is head and shoulders above nearly all the others of her age.

Unfortunately, that proved all too true as she beat Dasha Jones today, with another 6-0 6-0

Really - not losing ONE SINGLE game in four matches is a bit much, Darina

J30 Kuwait

Issah Ali lost his QFs in singles and doubles
