Hopefully Katy and Fran get back to the UK as they wont be playing in Israel. Horrible all round this world sometimes.
If Fran has a QWC for Cluj why hadn't she withdrawn from Jerusalem already?
She handed back the WC for Cluj, or it was announced before she accepted it. Unfortunately it has already been reallocated, so if the ITF is cancelled, which seems likely, she can't have it back.
Anna Brogan is now in the main draw for Shrewsbury. Add Danielle Daley to qualifying.
Ranah Stoiber, Abigail Amos and Hannah Klugman are also in qualifying.
Shrewsbury is having to compete for players with 3 WTA250s, another 100k, an 80k and two 60ks so it's presented opportunities for some lower ranked players that they may not have had otherwise.
It will be interesting to see who gets the wildcards at Shrewsbury. Normally it is loaded and all the top players are after a wildcard, but with quite a weak field, it looks like Marni Banks and three others. I'm not sure the juniors could justify main draw wildcards. Ranah is not going deep at 15ks, Hannah K was expecting a QWC, but doesn't need one and isabelle Lacey is still not fully fit.
Sonay, Fran??

The depth at the following weeks W40 is stronger than the W100 this week - 40 of the top 500 entered versus 27 here. Theres no doubt a good reason but is that usual?

While I don't disagree with you, I think Isabelle, Ranah and Hannah may have main draw wild cards. Both the Shrewsbury Club and LTA have drawn attention to them playing but neither have mentioned wild cards or which draw they are in. Why would the Shrewsbury Club publish a news article profiling them and saying they will be ready to go toe-to-toe with the best British players to have entered if they were in qualifying? Also, the LTA preview mentions them after the players directly in the main draw but before those in qualifying. If they weren't in the main draw why mention them before listing those in qualifying?
But aside from Marni and Eliz I don't see any other options from those entered, so why not?
I was wondering if Fran might request a WC for Shrewsbury now Israel is cancelled and the WC in Cluj she had previously declined has been reallocated. Katy Dunne may be a possibility as she was still entered for Shrewsbury, as well as several other events at the withdrawal deadline and withdrew from Israel within a day or two afterwards.
From another forum, and thanks to someone called Andy, it seems that Hannah Klguman can only use one more ITF/WTA tour WC as a 14yo under AERs, having used her other two at Nottingham and Ilkley.
So the question is whether she'd prefer to use it for Shrewsbury or Glasgow. She's into the qualis in Shrewsbury already, but is miles out of Glasgow (and I believe the withdrawal deadline has passed). So it would make some sense to turn down a WC next week (which I'm A1 sure she'd get if she wants one) and use the WC for Glasgow. Or take advantage of a pretty weak 100k field and throw caution to the wind and use the MD WC here? Remembering that she's got the Billie Jean King Juniors CUp coming at the start of November.
