Could be a short week... The Italians just won the 125k in Bucharest to break the top 100, and are a strong pair. And does look like Freya and Ali have parted company for a while at least.

Also note that Emily A and Isabelle aren't playing together this week.

 I'm very happy about that

Tennis is a global sport, there's absolutely no reason you should play with a local teammate, in fact, by definition you're creating a tiny short-list because there are so few candidates and therefore severely limiting your choice and so not getting the best choice

It's also very 'educational' to change partners

I've always thought Freya had a lot of potential as a tennis player. Personal issues seem to have held her back in singles and she lacks a cerain lucidity on court. But doubles seems to suit her better and she'd be a good partner for many top doubles contenders. Ali may well benefit from trying a new partner too.

Totally agree CD. And we have another pairing who could probably do with the courage to try some new things for a few months too.

I hope they haven't fallen out.

That was a really odd match, much closer than the scoreline (lost 5 of 6 deuces) and they played pretty well, but the Italians were so strong and never looked like they were going to get into trouble.

Plus, as happens when you are in good form the Italians get the 3 or 4 miss-hit winners, reflex volleys clipping lines, net cords etc... that tell you it's your day.

Over to you EmApp...
