I know folks dont like seeing two Brits play as it reducers their chances of going deep into an event, but it does add intrigue and Sonay versus Lily is an interesting match up for both of them. After her USO exploits, Lily must be confident but Sonay has the talent and seems to be showing some form from what little I have followed. Should be interesting match today.
Of all the GB match-ups, really didn't want to see Lily/Sonay. Lily has a good chance of reaching the top 100 soon, and Sonay can break her CH very soon too.

Yes, I never have any interest in a GB match-up just to see who's better
But I'm normally OK with it in that at least one will win (and there's often a very good chance that, otherwise, both will lose)
But, like you Crispy, not happy to have Lily v Sonay
I don't mind if it happens later on in the tournament but I hate it when it's two Brits in the first round who would both have decent chances against other opponents in the draw.

If Lily can get to R2 of a slam then surely Sonay can as well.
It's worth remembering that Sonay is the youngest by far of the GB current top 7 players.
She's still 21. The next closest players are 24 (Katie Swan and Jodie). Lily, at 27, is a very different profile.
And she's not got a huge amount of tennis in her past, given all the injuries and time she took out for herself.
I had a flutter on her as a teenager to be top 500/200/100 - and I'm still happy with the 100 part - I think she'll make top 100. But it's not going to be a straight line. And she doesn't have the height and power of Jodie, say, which makes it an 'easier' belief.
But, yes, I think she'll get there and so, yes, no worries about her making R2 of a slam
