Watched much of Harriets singles match. Sooo close, she really nearly got it. Unfriendly net cord was unfortuate in one of the last 2 games I seem to remember. And conditions were extreme.
Drat. As Emmsie say's it was a terrific battle from both girls. Brutal match, Harriet did so well for so much of it but could never really get any momentum behind her. Minnen was so solid.
Will hurt but more signs Harriet's game is in the right place after such a tough summer.
She does seem to be slowly improving the past few weeks, not sure why her form slumped so badly this year.

I dont actually think Harriets really slumped this year. For the past year her rankings been boosted by a couple of big counters (IW!), when they dropped off the rest of her results were much of a muchness. She covered all her points from last years grass season if I am correct, yet it felt like she wasnt doing as well - when I think she was, just no standout results.
She has had some bad losses in tournaments you'd expect her to win, eg several drop downs to ITFs. Her loss to Parry after a great grass season was poor. She's had some drubbings on the WTA, although one of the most shocking vs Dolehide looks more acceptable now that she's made the QFs in Guadalajara. But for context, Dart has beaten more top 100 players this season than Katie Boulter has.
