Lovely ace, and service-swing volley winner, in the last game to win the match!

Bad draw for Jodie - she gets the top seed Magda Linette WR24

Only on paper. This is very winnable for Jodie, she beat her in Nottingham and Linette has been pretty terrible since her run at the Australian Open. She's now a top 100 player and this is exactly the sort of match Jodie should be relishing against an opponent she has already beaten and not in great form.

I'd be disappointed if Jodie doesn't at least run her close but I'm actually quietly confident she will win.

Well done Harriet as well. Picking up a few points and winning some matches will hopefully gain her some confidence towards the end of what has bee a pretty disappointing season.

Anyone know why Katie B withdrew?

Good to see Harriet qualify. Seems to be getting something going on this little tour. Winnable 1st round, hope she can do it.

Agree with Harrygem. I have no idea how Linette go so highly ranked. Great chance for Jodie to show what she can do. Would be nice to get. QF at least outside of the Uk.

Thats a good draw for Harriet too, Jule has been in awful form.

I assume Katie is just taking a longer break in the UK rather than anything up.

With AdM in Manchester for DC, that's quite likely.

A very nice routine win for Harriet, winning 6-3 6-2. Nice to see her just cruise through!

Back-to-back wins at WTA level. Hope she can have a run here or at a top ITF, she shouldn't be ranked so low...

Naiktha was serving underarm in their qf match last week so assume some sort of shoulder injury.

Harriet was very solid today. Good win. Greet will be a lot tougher

Jodie currently a set up on Linette (7-6(3)). Playing pretty well but broken in first game of second set...and currently changing her wet (I'm assuming from sweat) shoes, but also they're mopping the back of the court.
