Darkness which seems odd under floodlights.

Shame after working so hard to get back into that set.

Looks like this week could be a good old fight for top spots in the doubles rankings

could the two pairs face each other at some point? Final only presumably ?

They can only meet in the final. Naiktha and Maia will probably stay on top unless Lissey and Liv go at least one round further. But the points are very close between them all and it might actually depend on their current lowest counter. Naiktha has a 29, Maia a 15, whilst Lissey has 60 and Liv has 50. The points are 60 for the QF and  110 for the SF - so Naiktha and Maia are in the driving seat.

Edit - I've done some sums

If N+M reach the QF or SF, then L+L need to reach the final to overtake them

If N+M reach the final then L+L need to beat them and take the title.

Don't forget that 12 of our top 17 are in action this week, with EMily A and Freya looking to catch up with the top 4.

I think it was a curfew rather than the dark that halted proceedings, perhaps just as well for Harriet given the code violation she'd just received.

Well it's probably just as well that they called a halt. Harriet reset overnight and took the decider 6-2.

R1: DART, Harriet (GBR) 144 (CH=84 2022) DEF FRUHVIRTOVA, Linda (CZE) (4) 56 (CH=49 2023) 7-5 5-7 6-2

That's a great win. From a comment earlier, it appears that both Women have been struggling this season but Harriet came out on top.
I was hopeful that she would win given the interruption.
Next opponent not decided yet but either Niemeier or Kalinskaya

Well done, Harriet

I said this was a very good chance for her - and even the bookies had them as evens at the start - which you wouldn't have had with any other player with Linda's ranking

Linda will now take a big drop in rankings, I believe

Very glad that Harriet took advantage of the opportunity

Yes, watched most of the last set. Linda was ahead in quite a few of the games and then just fell away. Standard was quite high at times with some very good rallies. Felt quite sorry for Linda really . She is having a woeful year.

Not to say I am not delighted Harriet won and she played superbly when it mattered.

 Harriet plays Kalinskaya next.
