Looks like the made heavy weather closing out both sets but who cares, wins a win! Lovely stuff. Keeping moving forward with Australian Open Direct Entry surely the goal.
Yes, Naiktha & Maia are now live ranked 85 & 87 respectively with hopefully more to come here.
Maia will now be just 5 ranking points behind Naiktha and FWIW, if they get further decent counters in the next couole of weeks,, Maia could at least temporarily move ahead of Naiktha to be GB doubles #1 ( since she would have a lower 11th counter to drop ).
Clearly if they keep playing together and with no-one else their ranking points will come together at some point.
I was wondering what ranking would be likely to get them into the AO direct entry - anyone know where the cut off tends to be?
Welcome to the board Anna.
The cut-off for the US Open was around 140 and Lissey and Liv were three out at a combined ranking of I believe 143. So Naiktha and Maia need to get a bit higher than that, ideally mid sixties or better.
Maia has just a single 80 point counter to defend before the AO and Naiktha has two 50 point counters. If they continue to play at the current level they should be just fine for the AO and right through until their Wimbledon points come off.
