How do these direct entries into challengers Johannes and Arthur are getting work? You have to be at a certain ranking in college? Are they unlimited while you maintain that position?

Here's an explanation. Five Brits have benefited: https://www.atptour.com/en/news/atp-ita-expand-accelerator-programme-january-2023

Basically 8 entries, in a 12-month time period. It's a super stepping stone. A way to avoid (or at least have the chance of avoiding) the slog through ITF events. So glad to see the lads taking advantage of the chance

The top 10 get into main draw, 11-20 into qualifying. Those players still at college get 6 entries during off season.

yes, but it's 8 entries for each player who's graduated, yes? (either into main or qualis). I didn't realise those still at college got 6 spots during vacations. I think it seems a very good idea. Wide enough to encompass quite a few players and with a fair bit of flexibility built in

Yes correct. A shame that there isn't a similar system for women yet.

Thanks for the explanations. As we are on the subject, how many of those 5 have finished college then?
