Great to see Katie taking advantage of winnable matches at Wimbledon and the US Open. More points for one win at a Slam than she'd have got for 3 wins (through qualifying) in Canada and Cincinnati. And Slam points are mandatory. She might not be consistent yet at this level but she is steadily banking points.

No offence to Katie but I think this gives her a great chance of achieving a new career high ranking.

We may have to rethink about this draw ! Wang is 6-4 *4-1 against Garcia

Wang is on an 11 match winning streak so dangerous but perhaps a little tired. as you say, great chance for Katie to make a third round.

Wang has had an astonishing year, climbing from 696 to 114 on the rankings, with six titles and a 57-10 win-loss record mostly on the ITF circuit. Think shes had injuries, so will be a tough opponent. Hopefully there will be some fatigue.

Wang shouldn't be too tired after winning 6-4 6-1 in 70 minutes - although she did come through qualifying. She missed a large chunk of 2022, hence the low ranking

Wang only lost 10 games in the whole qualifying tournament so probably not greatly tired.
