Amazing Katie, and I thought Jodie did herself justice on a very big stage.
She really did. Must be so encouraging, and she even got a clap from her opponent for a perfect lob which beat her at the net. Not overawed at all. Impressive since she's not playing that kind of level every day so it must take a while to adjust to that. Well done.
Hope JBs loss is a catalyst for bigger and better things. Not one she can be embarrassed about or rue missed chances, but perhaps look at her world no 2 opponent, whose career has been transformed by her refusal to beat herself up over errors and find a way to refocus. Good for her to feel the pace of what the top big hitters are like too. Great week for the 3 British ladies in the main draw. Onwards
It's been a great tournament so far. Jodie has solidified her top 100 position, beating a top 50 player and put a respectable performance up against the #2 in her first overseas slam MD. Katie makes r3 for the first time in a foreign slam MD, and has a real shot at r4. Lily qualified and made the most of a friendly first round draw. It's a lot of promising results!

Yes, Jeremy Bates shouldn't be concerned about losing coaching Katie B, but just tout how he set the foundations for what we are seeing here. Maybe he can be Emma's next coach
