There was a hand shake. Unfortunately it was following Jodie losing the final set tie break. Bizarre game and very irritating opponent. Think the heat was also a big factor and possibly the reason for Jodies mto. Having said that the quality was like something you would see in the park.

Hmm, sounds pretty awful

Although, as previously discussed, this year so far Jodie has somehow managed to have a better W/L record against top 100 ranked players than those ranked 101 to 200, she has actually been pretty efficient in at least managing to beat players ranked outside the top 200.

Her only loss to a player outside the top 200 was to Lily at Surbiton, and Lily wasn't far out then, being WR 209. She had won her other 9 matches against players outside the top 200.

Then came today ...

Good at least that means no issue for the US open. The heat issues may also explain the general level of play and bizarre behavior of her opponent.

Its been up to 38 degrees in Chicago. Incredibly challenging conditions to play tennis!

Perhaps Jodie would be better off drawing a seed in R1 next week.

Is there is a link to a recording to this match? They way youve all described it, I feel I have to watch it.
