Not sure what is going on in the doubles. The scoreboard on court 3 is working erratically and has been showing a MTO for 20 minutes ( Holly and Madddy's match). There is also a MTO on court 6 in Beth and Ellas match.
I don't agree. From the scoreboard Katy was competing well with the WR236 and achieved 4 breaks of serve despite starting a little slowly herself. She's improving with every match.

Certainly a 'bit' of luck, IMO
In a very tight match, if your opponent drops out and retires before the deciding set, that's got to be a bit lucky, no?
She obviously deserved to be one set-all - no question there, she was playing well.
But still a bit lucky to get the retirement, in my view, (which also saves her energy for the next day)
It's a bit of luck in that the quicker she can get through matches, the fewer motions that will aggravate her tendonitis, assuming it's still a problem.
Good stuff from Katy, continuing to compete well and move back up the rankings. A very welcome bit of luck which of course she has largely made herself by sharing these two competitive sets.

They have met four times with three wins to Diana and one to Katy. The most recent being a close 3 set win for Diana last year.
