Nooo. Such a pity, being so close to the win and then retirement from what I did think was a pretty decent draw. Got to just hope that it's not too serious.
Well done to CoCo Gaugh for winning the Cincinnati Open 6-3, 6-4 over Karolína Muchová.
I can remember saying a couple of years ago when fellow teenagers Emma Raducanu and Leylah Fernandez played in the US Open final that Coco was getting left behind and didn't seem to be living up to her early promise, but she's kept swinging, kept at it and stayed relatively injury free and tonight she's the young talent they are all talking about again.

Well done Coco.
Yes, well done to Coco. She has certainly proven to be the real deal, singles WR 7 and will now go up to WR 6, been top 7 all year with a CH 4 from last year, quite apart from also being doubles WR 5.
In Slam singles, 2022 French Open RU and overall 3 other QFs.

Yes - shes the real deal and will win a slam and get to number one before too long. I have been lucky enough to see her at Wimbledon twice already.

She was just so great at Wimbly qualis as a complete youngster - I sat just behind her whole family for two matches - and they seemed such good people and Coco showed a lot of class on court - (and she filled the 10p stake coffers for years to come )
Intersting about her and Brad Gilbert
ADD: and the new coaching relationship .....

She seems very bright as well and speaks incredibly well in public at her age !
Yes Coco will be number 1 one day, can see her battling it out with the Fruhvirtova sisters, Noskova and Andreeva in the years to come.
The Czech forums are pretty concerned about Linda F's injuries, seemingly. And her playing when she shouldn't be. And rate Brenda higher (although I think it's very common for fans to rate the younger sibling higher - it's the 'next best thing is round the corner' mentality - mind you, with the Andreeva family there's no question - not putting any 10ps on Erika, whoever she's playing....)
I saw Brenda play live this year at Wimbly qualis. Was impressed - better than I'd expected - but, to be fair, she was playing another Czech youngster who prefers clay.
Pretty amazing though that Czech Rep is currently #9, #10, #11 and #12 in the WTA rankings

whats the Brad Gilbert thing?
Sorry, googled and see he is her coach since just Washington - certainly had some impact then! Gilbert is a great coach, Marmite personality of course, but Agassi and Andy in his time with him are testament to his skills.
