Week 31 - ITF W25 - Foxhills, Great Britain Hard

Rules are complex but its if you are still playing at quali sign in that you can get SE in non overlapping. Seems very harsh.
Not sensible to play without rest in between...not even aday off

No, they only have to have participated in the final of the week 1 tournament for a SE. There's no requirement still to be playing at the qualifying sign in deadline or even for the final to have been played the day before qualifying starts. It's one of the few good changes from the 2019 reforms and was kept when those reforms were mostly reversed.

I've just looked this up as well, and I agree with Lambda. "2023 MENS AND WOMENS ITF WORLD TENNIS TOUR REGULATIONS", pages 90 & 91

I cant copy the rule but it seems to say you have to be still playing at 18.00 on the day of sign-in. The wording is rubbish
Its the 3rd criterion

No, that's not what it says at all. (The bold highlighting is mine)

The request for Special Exempt must be made prior to the Qualifying Sign-In Deadline (18:00 hours local time) the day before the scheduled start of the Qualifying competition) of the Week 2 Tournament. Players still playing in Singles in the Week 1 tournament at the time of the Qualifying Sign-In Deadline of Week 2, must reconfirm if they are playing the following day as soon as their match(es) are completed, and if potentially eligible for a Special Exempt position such position shall be held open until such confirmation has been received.

The final isn't showing on the order of play on the ITF website. The weather forecast is dire for today, so maybe they haven't decided where or when to play it. Perhaps they should join the men indoors at Roehampton.

Maybe they are looking to move the final to tomorrow? Looks like Foxhills were selling tickets and hospitality for it. So I guess theyd like to keep it there.

I suspect they'll not want to move it as they've sold hospitality at £55 a person.

If they were to delay the final until tomorrow wouldn't that guarantee Katy an SE for Aldershot?
