Assuming we go with at least 3 singles players. Who would take if you wanted a 4th or one of the current free becomes unavailable? Liam or dare I say the bloke in form Billy?

Gosh. Worth remembering that Liam has beaten Billy twice this season in straight sets, Winnipeg in August and cassis in September. brilliant as Billy is doing, Id take Liam, I think he would step it up. Id have Billy has a hitting partner as well.

still expecting Leon will choose Joe, not sure when cut off date is for naming Dans replacement?

and here is part of the answer, from BBC report on Billy - Billy will be a hitting partner. Not sure re Liam

Before that, Harris will travel with Great Britain to the Davis Cup Finals in Malaga later this month, providing support as a hitting partner for a squad including three-time Grand Slam champion Andy Murray.

It was also a role he fulfilled when Britain qualified for the last eight at a group-stage event held in Manchester in September.

The experience of practising with Murray, plus fellow top-100 singles players Cameron Norrie, Dan Evans and Jack Draper, provided further confidence for Harris.

"Hitting with those guys and training with them was a great experience," added Harris.

"It was good to hit with that kind of level and probably helped my results as well. It gives you the confidence you're not that far off the level required.

"Hopefully I can keep pushing on and keep chipping away at the ranking."

Rule 38.1.2 seems to suggest that upto three players ca be changed before 11am prior to play starting the day before but since GB only start on the Thursday I'm assuming this really is the day before the knockout tourno starts on the Tuesday. At any rate this is fairly short notice.

The LTA has posted today that Joe is joing the team. It would have been a surprise if he hadn't been chosen !

Also being reported that Louis Cayer is joining the support staff.  The only surprise to me there is why he wasn't on the staff in the first place.

Louis is an advocate for using doubles players in doubles so I am not surprised he was not involved when Evo - with whom he notoriously does not see eye to eye - sort of inserted himself into the doubles team.

Yes.  The comment on Twitter from Mike Dickson was along the lines of "Now the Evo has withdrawn from injury ..... ", so you are probably spot on there.

China arent actually playing in these finals , it will be interesting to see how a neutral venue works in this stage of the event? Cant imagine lots of fans travelling over to China.

Good draw - the Canadian top two are not exactly in good form and the other two are beatable on a hard court. Ruusuvuori is dangerous but our strength in depth should win through.
