Brilliant atmosphere. Kinda like a home and away Davis Cup tie.

First one in the bag:

RR3/1:  GB (Daniel Evans WR 27) defeated FRA (Arthur Fils, WR 44) by 3-6 6-3 6-4  smile

I think he was quite pleased...

Umbert nicks it:

RR3/2:  FRA (Ugo Umbert, WR 36) defeated GB (Cameron Norrie, WR 17) by 7-6(5) 3-6 7-5  cry

Cam double-faulted on match point to Umbert.  Into a decider.  hmm

Dunno how, but they pulled it off!

RR3/3:  GB (Daniel Evans & Neal Skupski, CR 118 [115+3]) defeated FRA (Nicolas Mahut & Edouard Roger-Vasselin, CR 43 [32+11]) by 1-6 7-6(4) 7-6(6)  biggrin

Absolutely loved that. Reminded me of Davis cup of old and why this competition is so great. Shame there's fewer moments like that to enjoy in this new format, but a great day of tennis and great atmosphere.
Now we can all look forward to the big finals week with a 1/4 full arena each day and polite applause for the winners...

From the Beeb's text commentary:

'We're off to Malaga'

Evans / Skupski 1-6 7-6 (7-4) 7-6 (8-6) Mahut / Roger-Vasselin

Dan Evans, Neal Skupski and Leon Smith speaking to BBC after Great Britain's victory over France in the Davis Cup.

Skupski: "I don't know how we've won that fight, sheer fight. Incredible effort from Dan to come out and win this match with me. First set it wasn't too good. We regrouped, took a toilet [break] and fought as hard as we could. Dan saving three points in the third set. The rest is history and we're off to Malaga."

Evans: "At about 6-1 in the first set, I thought he'd picked the wrong team! Thanks to every single one of the fans here.

"A set down, the guys on the bench said get the crowd involved. Some embarrassing stuff from me. It doesn't matter, we're going to Malaga."

Smith: "The day before they find out. We go into the last day and we'd made a plan for Wednesday and Friday so everyone knew what they were doing. We didn't plan for Sunday because we wanted to know how it went.

"I ran over to the DJ at one point and told him to put on some banging tunes at every end change. We needed a bit of help and that's normal. Thank you Manchester and thank you LTA for putting it on.

"The team is amazing. We get on very well. Everyone's played a part. It's all those guys and girls standing there who are amazing."

More DC magic, better than anything else that exists in the Tennis world. Evan's was mighty all week, in Smith we trust..

Lots to look forward to

Evans / Skupski 1-6 7-6 (7-4) 7-6 (8-6) Mahut / Roger-Vasselin

The draw for the Final Eight takes place on Tuesday, but, by winning Group B, it means Great Britain will play the runners up of either Group A or Group C.

So that's either an Italy side which could include the world number seven Jannik Sinner and the world number 18 Lorenzo Musetti or a Serbia team featuring a certain 24-time Grand Slam champion in Novak Djokovic.

Massive matches to look forward to, whoever GB is paired with in the event in Malaga, Spain from 21-26 November.

Late comment in commentary :  "Great advert for rhe format". Err, I don't think he quite gets it. Did he watch the non GB ties?

Marvellous - missed it all! Just got back in from a day trip back and forth to Edinburgh and 400 miles of driving and reading the results.

Well done team but, being frank, Dan is the hero here!

Interesting from Leon that the first two GB ties line ups were decided well in advance. So he had then decided to give the whole squad an outing which he previously said ( very debatably in my view) was very important.

Well done on captaining the team through to Malaga as group winners, mission accomplished. Some will still think there were good arguments for doing sone things differently that might not have left us on out on our ear point on 4 occasions.
