With that QF win, for at least one week Marni should be into the top 400 for the first time, and to GB #12, when the points from here get added on 31/07.
To stay there in the short term she will probably have to carry on winning this week, as the following rankings week she will drop 19 points from a quali & SF at last year's Nottingham W25.
More importantly. yes longer term looking good. Stay fit and well and there should be much more to come.
Marni has 59 points off before October (all from GB events) - so it will be difficult unless she travels.
Yes, but that is fairly short term points drops.
Her ranking by Wimbledon next year will basically be down to the points she accumulates in the year prior to that. A lot to do but off to a decent start.

W25 runner-up is not good enough - she played 4 15k events in Monastir for 8 points. All the players from #11 (Anna B) to #14 (Elily App) will still be ahead of her.
What a strange match. Nine games in a row for H+M and in full control, then they tightened up and the errors mounted up and B+R played better and better.
Marni reminds me of the quote (from Eric Morecombe?) about playing all the right notes, just not necessarily in the right order.
That's Marni - lots of great shots, just not at the right time - no real schema of play, stays at the back when it's glaringly obvious she should come in and take the ball out the air, decides to do a drop shot at the wrong time (and then announces it to the world, so Asia has all the time needed to come in a deal with it)
Asia has been playing with a very clear strategy
However, Marni has FINALLY won a game. And now it's 1-1 in the second set (just don't ask about the first one)
