There were brief spells in the match where you could see Jodie's talent but mostly it was a horrendous performance, so many decent first serves wasted with shocking errors on her initial groundstroke. Given the opportunity to hit the ball into the open space, Jodie would inevitably hit it to ZB, who would then pass her effortlessly. 2nd serve returns that landed narrowly wide, routine groundstrokes miles long or midway up the net.

I see where you are coming from, and agree to a point. But Jodie has still got some one-point counters so 25 points here still makes a difference as pther players are still quite close.
That's the whole thing about rolling rankings, you can win the event as #4 seed and still lose points if last year at the same time you won an even bigger event.
So no problem either with the other end of the spectrum where you 'underperform' and go up
The big picture is that this was a W100 draw with a really weak entry and 140 points that could have taken her 20 places up the rankings. 140 points that would stay on the rankings for 12 months. She'd need to reach the final of the WTA250 event in Warsaw to get that many points.
Appreciate that the life of a tennis player is full of ups and downs, but it's the performances away from the British grass court season that will determine a player's true status.
