Week 29 - ITF W100 - Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain Hard

live-tennis.eu/en/wta-live-ranking

This site is my tennis bible.
The WTA live race is great (Boulter 71 ATM), while also having all the up to date tournament draws, live scores, schedule and an analysis of points dropped over the next five weeks.

Saw today on the Race that Francesca Jones is ahead of Katie Swan in 2023.

The live race only includes WTA points and Fran won a 250k.  ITF points aren't included

Yes, I quite like checking occasionally on the OER live race figures. They do include ITFs so don't mirror the official WTA race but do show how the players are getting on for ranking points won in the current year.

It looks like Alicia and Olivia won by walkover

Confirmed on the draw

QF:- Alicia Barnett (GBR) / Olivia Nicholls (GBR) CR160 (79+81) [1] defeated Georgina Garcia-Perez (ESP) / Aleksandra Krunic (SRB) CR579 (211+368) Walkover

Their next opponents also had a walkover

SF:- Alicia Barnett (GBR) / Olivia Nicholls (GBR) CR160 (79+81) [1] v Lia Karatancheva (BUL) / Sesil Karatantcheva (BUL) UNR (382+UNR/CH154 in 2010) [WC]
A 50 point non-counter for both our girls, but they need bigger points with a 140 and a 280 dropping in August)

(Emilie plays later today)

And was 30-15 up, two points from the set, when she went to the net and was REALLY tentative, lost that point, and the next two...

5-5 :(

But two more very good games and she's got the first set 7-5

And thoroughly deserved, from what I've seen

I didn't see the first set, but Jodie looks decidedly disinterested right now. Very flat and making plenty of errors. 3-3*

I think she's just miffed that she got broken and that all the crowd are cheering Eva

Possibly. Poor body language though. Anyway, she's serving for the match now *5-4

Well done Jodie. Would have been the kind of match she lost a year ago.
