There was a nice interview on one of the Czech sites from Bartunkova (now a finalist) about having to play so many Brits and the matches:

"Last year's quarterfinalist reached the semifinals this time, when she eliminated three home Britons. She turned around the last match with an aggressively playing Ranah Akua Stoiber and won 1-6, 6-1, 6-2.

"My opponent played very well and quickly in the first set, I couldn't react in time. In the second and third sets I was more aggressive and went to the net more. It was a very entertaining match," said semifinalist Nikola Bartková.

A member of Prague's I. LTK confessed last year that the grass Grand Slam is her favorite tournament. "I love Wimbledon. And I have more experience on grass, every match is useful," she remarked on her third Wimbledon appearance.

Bartková eliminated her third home junior to the displeasure of British fans. "Playing against a British woman on grass is probably the hardest thing that can be here. It's difficult mainly mentally, because there are always fans behind her," said the seventeen-year-old Czech.

"I had to get used to another court. It was beautiful and one of the biggest I've played on so far," she looked back at Court Three, which has a capacity of 2000,<> seats.

The Czech teenager also wanted to participate in the junior Roland Garros, but had to miss the Paris Grand Slam and several other events due to various health problems. Among other things, she was troubled by an abdominal muscle injury.

"Unfortunately I didn't have any preparatory tournament because I was injured. I also missed a lot of ITF women's tournaments. It was a tougher time, but now I'm fine. I am grateful for every stroke and ball," added semifinalist Bartková with a smile."

Its amusing to see Ranah called Stoiberova and Mimi Xuova and Hep Oluwadareova!

Never really thought they do that with non Czech names so learnt something then. Lets hope Raducanova gets back to fitness soon!

She's leaving the National Academy to move on to the Pro Scholarship Programme.
Along with Ella McDonald, it seems.

Oh no. Did brilliantly to get back from 1-5 down, only to give away another sloppy service game, not helped by some movement at the net from Isabelle that was far too telegraphed. Credit to the Czechs though for regaining their composure after losing that lead. 5-6.

Yep. The Czech pair win 6-4 7-5. They were more decisive at the net and also seemed to handle the wind a bit better. Great performance from Hannah and Isabelle to get this far but I think they'll be a bit gutted not to take that second set to a tiebreak.

I think she's an Octagon player so this is the benefits of being in the agency who hold the license. I think the agreement for Warsaw is 1 wildcard in each of the draws is chosen by the Polish fed and the other is chosen by Octagon and she's the Octagon choice.
