Halfway through the month with 12 nominations. July is often a strange month in Pom terms as the first half is clearly bigger in tennis terms than the second , so lets see how far 12 grows and over the rest of the month. If we reach 16 players or so, then similar to last month Ill think of splitting into two rounds of voting
Ps been in north Norfolk this weekend - weather was pretty lousy but lovely area and well recommend Sandringham to anyone wanting an interesting visit. And Im in no way a Royalist, but enjoyed it very much .

Normally youd say a slam winner would be guaranteed PoM for sure - in fact youd put them up there as serious contenders for player of the season - Joe won PoS in 2020 and Emma in 2021- this month weve got 4 of them going for it! going to make it fun this month!
Well you might say that Jon. Probably others, including certainly myself, would just say that a main singles Slam winner is pretty much guaranteed PoM. But then you have been more into general Slam winners, having for instance picked Joe's US Open double doubles over Emma.
One ot two of these Slams winners are at least currently in my thoughts. But we will see how it all transpires.

Dang, your memory is good!
guaranteed was probably a poor choice of wording on my behalf! Maybe I should have said it would usually put them in a strong position !

Ha, I recall that you had some kind of rules you gave yourself at the time, which IMHO proved to be not fit for purpose

Oh yea- I had a little checklist of winning something , and doing it more than once in the month (sustained performance). Ive become a little more flexible in my old age!
