Week 27/28 - Wimbledon Ladies, Great Britain Grass -DOUBLES

At least it was nice to break the 40 year wait for an all British pair to get that far in the Ladies doubles. Well done to them.

Shame about the scoreline, but what a run! Really enjoyed the bits that I saw, some very exciting doubles play.

great to see them in the top 100, an outside chance if they can add points of making the US Open MD. Good luck to them! Naiktha in particular has been a revelation

Hunter and Mertens have reached the final, having dropped only eight games in their nine completed sets (one retirement and one walkover). Naiktha and Maia did well to win three of those eight.

They won 1 more game than the 16th seeds who lost earlier today.

Lucky if there is more than 1000 folk watching the final it seems.

Could play a count the crowd game such is the lack of interest. Kind of ironic Im sort of watching it. Background noise whilst doing the housework

Hardly a surprise most people headed home after such a long mens final. Great match though.

Like I said on other thread. Should have stuck with mixed as the final match. Much better fit

Nowhere near as entertaining as the girls doubles earlier today.

It would be far better if Wimbledon allowed a free for all onto Centre after the Mens Final. 30 minutes for people with Centre Court/No.1 tickets to move to better seats and then just let everyone in. Maybe have some buckets for donations rather than have the ballache of queuing for tickets while the MF in still going on.

 Good idea !

(wouldn't go for the five sets though)

 Agreed on both points.
