Week 27/28 - Wimbledon Ladies, Great Britain Grass -DOUBLES

Bloody brilliant! When was the last time a British female has made the doubles QF at wimbledon!?

Was Heather Watson / Tatjana Maria in 2018.

Potentially Mertens/Hunter in the quarterfinals which would be another level.

Another interesting stat. Bains and Lumsden are the first all British pair to reach the women's doubles quarterfinals in 40 years. Jo Durie and Anne Hobbs reached the semifinals in 1983.

And a nice little sum of £75k to share between them for reaching the last 8.

I'm not a huge follower of doubles but they played well in the bit I saw and a great result.

They must have considerable expenses to offset before they pay tax.

Bains and Lumsden will face Hunter and Mertens in the quarterfinals following their walkover today. Their opponents have had a bizarre route to the QF: 60 62, 62 20 retired and a walkover.

Yes, although from a cashflow perspective it's not good because it's withheld at source.

Girls are playing a very good level, but it's just not enough for this quality of opposition.

1-4*

Saved multiple break points and worked very hard to get a game point, but Naiktha netted a short forehand she really should have made.
