I've never been a fan of Naiktha's singles (maybe wrongly so)
But I've always liked her doubles, ever since seeing her play with Naomi Broady at Surbiton - she was just a different person on the doubles court
I love the way she really makes her presence felt at the net - having wathed Freya and Ali, it's the exact probem they have (and Harriet too) - she's in your face, moving, putting the player off, coming forward, threatening. Maia's pretty good too. i.e. not just being a good net player, but being a force even when you're not hitting the ball
So just the 240 ranking points and very nice cheques so far, and up to live ranked 115 & 116 respectively.
Their shot at Hruncakova & Mihailikova in R3. That could / should have been an all British R3 match.
Some big changes coming in the next rankings. Lissey and Liv down 14 & 16, Harriet up 16, Naiktha and Maia up 63 and 66 to overtake Freya and Ali, poor Emily down 12 and Heather up 66

Yes, some big changes. Although Freya and Ali each remain on 718 points, so for now still just ahead of Naiktha and Maia on 699 and 694 points respectively, as GB # 4, 5, 6 & 7
Coric shows Freya and Ali on projected 686 points compared with the official WTA ranking 718 points. The difference is that Coric is counting 10 points from Wimbledon with a non-counter of 42 points for Freya. So Coric is wrong again, in taking slams as mandatory for doubles. Freya, Ali and Emily all have the wrong points.

Lissey and Liv have 60 points off but both have a 50 point non-counter so should stay roughly where they are (71/72).
I make Emily on 584 points.

Oh such a shame. A really poor tiebreaker. They got a nice run of points at the end of it to make it look tighter than it was, but had left themselves too much work to do. Naiktha should have made the return on the first point I think.
