Freya and Ali not on the OOP today - presumably because Cornet's involvement in singles until yesterday.

Not convinced about sympathy for any individual's playing timetable,  as Liam  has to play 2 singles matches on consecutive days and yesterday's match was a 5 setter.

Not sympathy, just pondering a reason why they aren't playing today, and can't think of any other. There are free courts this afternoon - they could have been on court 4 for example.

Lissey and Liv now play Bad Homburg champions Martins/Marozava who are in for Samsonova/Kudmertova

That's a very late change - I last looked at the order of play only an hour ago. Not sure whether this is actually a better draw or not after Bad Homburg !

R1:- Lidziya Marozava (BLR) / Ingrid Martins (BRA) CR117 (59+58) [9] v Alicia Barnett (GBR) / Olivia Nicholls (GBR) CR138 (68+70)

And Cornet has withdrawn so Ali/Freya now have a super chance against Detiuc/Gamiz.

They're having a 'mare - Lissey, in particular from the bits I've seen

Good support on Court 6, but the occasion seems to have got the better of them. Need something to go right to get them fired up.

0-6

They might have been better against the 9th seeds...

Lissey and Liv lost 0-6 3-6

A poor match

I know people were discussing yesterday the importance of being an established pair and not giving wildcards to non-estalished pairs but frankly, Jodie and Emily (who weren't great) did a LOT better than our most established and best ranked pair....

Lose 6-0 6-3.

Opponents are a good pair who've got a title in grass. But it does feel this pairing may have just about stretched to where it can go, sadly.

Heather and Harriet miss two break points at the start of the third.

6-4 3-6 *1-1

High level.

Harriet and Hev's match is a good, close match

one set all

Ostapenko just served three (!) double faults but our girls still couldn't break, which is a big shame...
