Oh I agree CD, but often the schedulers find a way to put a Brit on the big courts in a 'lesser' match for the first time. I just think getting absolutely destroyed on such a big stage is never going to feel great.
She's doing better now, but frustrating to lose the break after having chances on both her game points.
Yes but as per the men, my fury is with the Met Office
According to the commentary, they swore blind there would be no more rain after 1.30
And it's their job, their expertise
And then 40 mins later - it's raining !
Oh everyone knows not listen to the met office. The club needs to do some appropriate risk management - if we close the roofs well get 8 matches on them, if we dont well get no more than 6. It was a wash out yesterday what were they thinking? And we will have players safely in the 3rd round with others not even started their 1st round by Thursday. Its an absolute joke

It's a bit messy but they should be caught up after Friday with 2 and a half rounds played by then.
Once again, it is in essence an outdoor tournament. And anyway at this stage, in the grand scheme of things, even a few extra closed roof matches doesn't really shift much on.
Weve had rain at Wimbledon before and the best time to lose play to rain is the start, as there is a lot more time and space to catch up. Itll be fine, as Indy says, back on schedule by the weekend.
Worse is if they lose play second week although the main singles will be fine with the roof. It will be the minor events that will suffer, like mixed or over 35s. But only if there is rain later next week.
In Formula 1 they can predict the rain to within minutes - so why can't Wimbledon do the same.
Because the people running F1 know what they are doing. The elitist All England Club are generally out of touch with reality and their decisions are made with favouritism and nepotism as we see from their pals in government. Its actually quite funny. We are miles behind the Aussies and Americans.
I reckon there are more and more players who dont see Wimbledon as grand as the hard court slams. All this nonsense about it being the best is just lip service.

Unfortunate to be broken there. Had a game point. She should be doing better on the return but Kasatkinas depth and placement is so good. Jodie just cannot get the ball away. The last two points in that game I've no idea how the Russian won them, really great defence and counterpunch skills. I mean Jodie played one of the best lobs I've seen and still lost the deuce point.
2-4*
Only thing I will say is Jodie doesn't seem to be fully hitting through her forehand? Seems a bit pushy at times. Nerves and tension maybe.

Yes it really does seem to be run by arrogant elitists doesnt it. Bring in the working classes! They get things done
I feel for Jodie. Nerves totally got the better of her. This time next year she will be better im sure. And she doubled the games she won against Gauff lol.
