Oh dear, just checked in on today's scores and we don't seem to be having a good one. I saw a medical time out on Mimi's game too, but guess it was her opponent as she was well up beforehand.
Hannah gets a bit lucky as Jani gets nervous serving for the match and a couple of errors give her a BP. Fabulous chip and charge from Hannah takes it.
Anna an early break down in the decider.
[WC] Anna Brogan GBR 4-6 7-5 1-2* Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva AND
[WC] Hannah Klugman GBR 1-6 *5-5 Reka-Luca Jani HUN
Annas opponent is 3rd in the World under 18 in the WTA rankings. Given how many quality teenagers there are coming through thats a superb win well against bookies odds as well especially when you consider Silva and Appleton were odds on today. A handy 21k as well to help her progress further. She doesnt get the press of others for obvious reasons but hopefully she can push on and keep winning.
So.our top 3 ranked here are through to QR2 and the youngsters have showed up well and added hopefully very useful experiences. Just slight downers re Eden and Emily, more particularly Eden's rather non show.
