Wimbledon Ladies Qualifying

Isa was unfortunate with her draw here, plenty of girls she could she could have beaten. But although the extra points and cash would have been nice, in the grand scheme of things at this stage in her journey first or second round qualies isn't what's going to make the difference. She's developing into a good tennis player, improving, seeing how she matches up, and lots of lessons learnt and experience banked.

A great few weeks following her, and lots more to come.

Shame that there was that injury break for Hunter, as it's disrupted Mimi's rhythm quite a bit.

Think it was a pretty shameless bit of gamesmanship by Hunter, but it's worked and totally thrown Mimi off.

One way traffic in the wrong direction since two bits of tape were added to the Aussies knee. Mimi has only won 4 points.

5-6*

Yup - didn't see her getting treated, but her movement has been hunky dory since.

Mimi did very well to hold at the start of the second there.

Anna missed a break point, now *4-4

Hannah seems to be struggling a little bit Jani's playing style, the loopier balls and having to generate a lot of the pace herself.

1-3*

Fairly bad few minutes, as Anna drops the opening set, Hannah drops serve again, and Mimi misses a hatful of break point opportunities to be kept on serve.

[WC] Anna Brogan GBR 4-6 *0-0 Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva AND
[WC] Hannah Klugman GBR *1-5 Reka-Luca Jani HUN
[WC] Mimi Xu GBR 5-7 *2-2 Storm Hunter AUS

Hannah dropped the first set, but solid hold to start the second. Anna also making a good fist of it against a very good opponent.

Great heart from Mimi to finally break in another deuce-heavy game. Back on serve.

Anna was briefly a break up in the second but was immediately broken back.
