Week 26 - WTA500 - Eastbourne, Great Britain Grass

I quite enjoy putinseva, but Ostapenko leaves me cold.

Good effort from Harriet and Hev but they lose all 3 deuce points to lose the first set 7-5. Could have quite different if they'd taken one of those.

Heather had a MTO at 5-6* for her left thigh I think.

Retire before the second set starts. Sure it's just precautionary.

Ostapenko is always tired and grumpy looking but I like her she has character and personality although maybe not everyones cup of tea. If she plays Im certain she will be too strong for Harriet and likewise Gauff in the other tie. Anything better than straight sets losses will be an achievement here.

I'm pretty much with you re Ostapenko. Whisper, I'm similar re Putintseva.

Hahah weirdly, I find Ostapenko exciting because she's so crazily animated on court - although I do hate that she can't give a decent handshake after losing. But you know on her day, she can blow anyone off the court. Putintseva I can't get behind though.... her antics are too much.

Ostapenko can be funny and good humoured on court too whereas Putinseva is just 100% moan

Well, not a lot Jodie can do against a player in a different class than her. She hasn't had experience playing at this level and it shows. I hope Coco doesn't bagel her in the second set though.

Unfortunately Jodie is having one of those plays a good point then misses the next 10 days

Embarrassing. Reminded me of the good old hey days of the late 90s where our ladies would barely win a point off anybody

Is Jodie OK? She does have taping on her shoulder?

Yeah I think that shoulder is sore, Naomi Broady said she nearly refused the LL entry when it was offered to her

Just had a bet on Gauff for Wimbledon. 18-1. Think she has a chance
