Week 26 - WTA500 - Eastbourne, Great Britain Grass

Harriet loses the second set on the tiebreak, 7-5. Never should have been in that position having served for it twice, and playing an opponent that has about 2% confidence in her shots.

[WC] Harriet Dart GBR 7-5 6-7(5) *0-0 Shuai Zhang CHN

Zhang played better once she went behind, cut out the errors. Not a great tiebreak from Harriet who is becoming increasingly flustered. Played a couple of good points at the tail end but was well behind.

7-5 6-7(5) *0-0

Jodie a break down and I can't bring myself to watch.

Horrible tennis from Harriet at the wrong time

So many errors from Burridge. 5-2 down in the first. There seems a massive gap between her and Harriet , Katie B at the moment

This is a painful watch at the moment. Be nice if some of these players actually rose to the occasion rather then shrink at the big moments

This is why theyre all strapped up they can never finish a match easily and play an extra unnecessary hour. Im including Emma in that also.

Harriet just made back to back WTA quarters finals playing some stunning tennis, and Jodie made a WTA final a couple of weeks ago. Jeezo that's rising to the occasion!

Synchronised breaks. Harriet *3-1, Jodie *1-0

Wind getting even worse.

Harriet has a couple of game points, but again Zhang pulls out the better tennis when she's behind and gets back to deuce. Some good serving from Harriet despite the wind and she holds.

4-1*

Jodie 2-0*

Ugly tennis most definitely but Eastbourne has a long history of that! And at least we've got decent commentary in Annabel and Sam to enjoy.

Harriet rises to the occasion with a run of beautiful points to break and go up *40-0. Winners flying off her racket. But a double fault and a forced error leave it at *40-30, and she nets for deuce.

Super serve and the return is long for match point 4. Double fault. Oooh, a weak second serve begs to be demolished but Zhang goes long.

Yes!

7-5 6-7(5) 6-1

Well done Harriet. Got there in the end!

Yes Annabelle is one of the best. Her and Laura Robson are my favourite combo
