Week 26 - WTA500 - Eastbourne, Great Britain Grass

Harriet is indeed 1/3 on as against 12/5 for Zhang on bet365. I think definitely worth a wee wager on Zhang.

Katie is 2/1 against as against 2/5 for Barbora.

I'll go for one win out of 3 for the Brits but I think it's less clear who that one is most likely to be than the odds indicate.

Edit: Put that wee wager on Zhang plus one on Boulter plus Zhang / Boulter double ( 9.2/1 )

Depending on how many more players withdraw I think there is every reason to hope all three GB women can progress. Katie B should be full of confidence after Nottingham and her opponent, if she does play, will surely be fatigued after this week in the heat in Birmingham.

Harriet was decent enough in Birmingham and her opponent hasn't won a match for months.

As for Jodie, she's the true definition of lucky. She should beat Davis comfortably if the right Jodie turns up.

All the Brits except Katie are playing tomorrow.  Annoying, as I am going on Tuesday!

Unlucky for Katie to get the toughest draw of the Brits (presuming Krejcikova doesn't pull out) while Jodie's as a LL almost couldn't have been better.

Krejickova has moved into a seeded position (not sure who has withdrawn - Rybakina?) Boulter is now due to take on Petra Martic

I think it is Krejickova who has withdrawn - can't see her in the draw at all now.

Shes been moved to play X Wang (where Rybakina originally was) on the LTA website

I'm looking at the WTA website. I'm sure you are right, but neither website is very good about updates !

Yes just been confirmed that Rybakina and Linda Fruhvirtova have both withdrawn. Dropping like flies..Heather might still get in yet.

Linda was a lucky loser herself! So yeah, Heather is now next in.

Oh dear, more top players dropping out. Suppose the Brits need all the help they can get! Still have Coco and Jess, with Garcia as well and Ons easy points here for them!
