I'm looking at the player list on the Wimbledon website. Naiktha, Emily A, Marni and Eden are all included, but not Anna (?? !!) On the men's side I see Dan Cox but nor Stuart Parker. The list might be in the process of updating though ......
Interesting...... Stu Parker HAS to be there, so as you say, guess it's updating - but Marni on the list and not Anna is a little weird...

Wouldn't read too much into that list to be honest. Its largely just pulled from the central entry list and has been the same for weeks (Marni has always been on it). Katy Dunne is there for example as she, like Marni, is still on the main draw alternates list albeit 100 places out (Anna isn't on that list), and there's various junior players in there too.

Mind you, I haven't checked the doubles entry list, but that wouldn't include Marni anyway. Also Maia is on the list
Might be a red-herring in respect to our current discussion though.
I wonder if Marni has a WC too as they'll be 5 left with Sonay now not in qualifying and that was why she didn't play?
Now that would be excellent (for her not being injured, more than anything)
But hadn't Marni withdrawn before we knew that the 4 semi finalists were going to be the 4 seeds, making it easier to pick them plus Marni if 5 Q WCs available? Sorry but I don't see her being awarded one at that earlier stage.
plus would it be fair on the other 3 QF losers? Or indeed on the validity of the whole process?
Marnie v Millie was the tie of the 1st round and both would have been near misses for getting an initial WC. I don't think it's far fetched that once that match came out the draw that they could view it as a 'final' and award the winner a WC in addition to the 2 that win the 2 halves of the draw.

The player's page includes the alts which explains what you're seeing and Anna not being there. I'm curious of the presence of JoKo and Laura R on the list though.

I'd say it is rather far fetched
I agree if it was a case of a seeded player playing the 5th ranked player then fine, but...it wasn't ;p
