I guess she tried to see if she could serve it out at 5-3

And then saw it wasn't possible

Not sure it wasn't the smartest decision to carry on when she started to feel problems....... :(

I suppose with the points she's defending she perhaps felt it was worth trying the final few games to bank the extra if she could.

Katie's struggled with similar type injuries for a few years, it must be so frustrating when they re-appear yet again. Still, hopefully this one won't linger as long as previous ones have. She wasn't really able to compete to her normal level today. Good luck to Krueger, that serve of hers is a weapon and a half, though by the third set it had gone a bit awry too.

Poot Katie

Seems really very unlucky and she certainly doesn't seem to lack willingness to put a lot of work in regards her fitness.

Real shame, but I'm amazed she got as close as she did. She was really sluggish from midway through the second set onwards. Hopefully only a minor setback.

If only the Slam's were placed at the start of their respective seasons, Swan would be top10, no trouble.

Damn, what is it with our top ranked Women. As well as Katie S, there's  Emma with multiple issues, Katie B with general health problems and Jodies ankles.

And not only the leading women either - Draper and Edmund on the men's side too.
