Yeah Eden and Gadecki were broken from *40-0 at 5-6 and then the second set evaporated.

Is that the best win of Holly's doubles career?

Holly has a couple of 18 pointers from Nottingham and Yecla but 25 would do it biggrinbiggrin. Holly has 8 counters and Madeleine 10 - so they all count.

I do not understand the scheduling. Why is Sonay's round 2 match before Anna's round 1 match?

I wonder if Anna was hanging around until late last night in the hope of starting whereas Sonay finished the previous day, so to give Anna a bit of a later time to get up and ready? I don't know but it's a possibility.

That might be a good argument if Sonay were on first, but shes actually third on court. Leaving Anna until 4th seems a huge risk given how uncertain the weather has been.

Having taken the decision that Sonay and Anna are to be the 2 CC matches, Sonay's match is scheduled first as Elsa Jacquemot is playing doubles later.

Hopefully, for Anna's sake, she doesn't need to make it to SW19 for tomorrow wink

They need to sign in by tonight, don't they?

In person?

So if she's not on the list, she's scuppered, no?

So...if Anna plays and wins and then signs into Roehampton, she has to withdraw from Rd 2 here? Or if she gets rained off again, signs into Roehampton, she will withdraw from rd 1 presumably and would they then give a lucky loser place? Would there be any lucky losers hanging around still? Or would Scott get a walkover?

It all seems very un ideal to me, partly weather induced but also clunky that someone might have to withdraw from one event due to another event - maybe I am unfair but couldnt they have worked out the Wild Card Play offs field at the weekend before Ilkley began?

But even if they'd worked out the wildcards, and Anna knew she hadn't got one, she would probably have still have wanted to play here, just to get a R1 pay packet, and the possiblity of a win and points

absolutely - I am just thinking if Anna knew she had a wild card for wild card play offs, would she have played here/been allowed to - but of course, I realise now they cant dothe play off fields until the Wimbledon Wildcards announced, so there is no choice in all this, just a shame it happens but no real alternative
