So QWCs confirmed for Hannah, Ella, Ranah and Mimi.

Eden and Sonay missing from the alternates list and Lily from the qualifying acceptance list.

Srban is the Q1 seed - and was only 9th on the acceptance list (but has risen 20 ranking places since then)

Eden played Brum so can't be here for singles. Although she could play doubles.

Heather has taken a main draw wildcard here. She was originally scheduled to play Birmingham (with Harriet scheduled to play Ilkley) but they seem to have swapped locations.

The betting odds are rather similar for all our players today, with only Beth as a real outlier, and only Marni as practically evens

Marni 2
Ranah 2.62
Maia 2.75
Anna 3.25
Mimi 3.5
Jasmine 4
Ella 4.33
Hannah 5
Beth 7.5

Anna is playing the woman whom Maia beat in three sets in Surbiton

Ella has the woman whom Isa Lacy beat in two sets in Surbiton

A couple of the players are playing their first event on grass this year, which is always encouraging (some have played hard before this, but Mimi's opponent has only played clay)

The challenge facing our qualifiers seems' huuuge' but the above comments from CD reminds us that it may not

be not be completely hopeless wink

I'm a glass half-full sort of person

(I agree it seems a tough ask though)

Mimi was leading 4-2 and then played a bad game with 2 double faults and got broken back

After which her opponent played a bad game with 2 doubles faults and Mimi broke again

Great match  no

Was hoping for a little better tennis from Ranah to be honest. She had a good couple of weeks at this level last year and Hartono is not a step up from those girls. Did well to get the break back but was them broken from *40-15, then it went with serve.

4-6 *0-0

Has the weapons to turn this round though.

Maia lost the first set 6-3.

Mimi doing well. I thought she had a chance in this one, 6-3 0-0*

And Mimi manages to serve out the first set to take it 6-3

Ranah lost her first set 4-6, but it was close, not much in it...

Didn't watch Maia's one but she's lost her first set too, 6-3, to Inglis

Talia is now in as an ALT against Alice Robbe (FRA), as Quinn Gleason presumably has dropped out

But Anna Brogan has dropped out and been replaced by an Aussie woman

(But of a shame that Talia didn't get that spot really - that was a good draw)

Anna sadly has been replaced by an Alt

and Talia is an Alt instead of someone else

Very nice performance and win from Mimi Xu, who beats Antonia Ruzic very comfortably in the end, 6-3 6-3. Breaking Ruzic again to cap off a great match.
