I dare Jodie to tap to her forehead at the end if she pulls this out

I actually spluttered my coffee over my keyboard biggrin

After multiple deuces the game finally moves to 4 all. There are some surprised faces, some fans thought Harriet would cruise to victory after the 6-2 second set, but this looks like going to the wire. Nerves are jangling.
This third set is a battle royale.

At love forty down you think for sure there will be a break this time but no Jodie saves the game in another edge of the seat thriller 5-4

5 all. Moving ever closer to a tie break, maybe, you just don't know...

Oh dear. Jodie pulls up mid-point and falls to a crouch position indicating that she is in pain. She bravely continues but moments later Harriet gets the break. Given their relative conditions I cannot see HD failing to hold and take this match.

Then Jodie has some cramp and/or ankle, ssue as she fails to take off for a drop shot at *30-15, then also loses the next 2 points to finally be broken.

5-6*

That's a shame

You can't help wondering if Harriet hasn't managed to get her wildcard after all.... :::(((

It wasn't so much Jodie's movement at the end, but the look on her face - the look of 'oh no.....not my ankle, please......we've been here before.....and it's all bad'

But pleased for Harriet

Nice to share out the spoils

Just hope Jodie is OK

Harriet's face when she went to shake hands - not a hint od a smile or friendship. You'd think she'd lost.

Well done to Harriet. Could yet be a big win for her though normally the WC meeting will have been held by this time.

Indeed good wins today for both the possible outsiders of "the 5" with Katie Swan's win in Italy.

Gosh I hope Jodie is ok.

Harriet had so many chances to win that straightforwardly but Jodie fought so hard. Impressive. Hope Harriet can back this up now.

What do you expect when there was a big sulk coming in the opposite direction? None of this was remotely in the same league as the utterly embarrassing Ollie Robinson towards Usman Khawaja in the cricket also in Birmingham.
