It seems to me that Millie should have the ultimate honour of an Individual Player Thread smile

Millie was a promising junior, but not an out-an-out star

Now age 21, and having been in the US college system, she has developed really well her best points, the strength and power of her game. She's also improving the bits to work on, the defence and movement. 

In the final womens singles D1 2023 College Rankings, she was:

17- Rajecki

Her result sheet so far this summer 2023 has been pretty amazing.

This is a player who was ranked outside the top-1000 and she has beaten:

MUHAMMAD, Asia (USA) WTA 291 and Parnaby (AUS) WTA 434

I was curious as to why she received the wild card in Notts, her 1st round win more than justified it :)

I've just noticed that Millie won the World Tennis Number Player of the Month for women's NCAA Div 1 in September.

NC State senior Amelia Rajecki, ranked #10 in the ITA/Tennis-Point preseason singles rankings, won the A1 singles draw in the College Fall Ranked Spotlight. Rajecki recorded five ranked wins at the event, including #2 Mary Stoiana of Texas A&M and #16 Irina Cantos Siemers of Ohio State in the finals. This was the second consecutive year Rajecki took home first place having won the A2 singles draw in the 2022 ranked spotlight event.

Abi Wild chats to Millie about life in college, culture shocks, spending her freshman semester in quarantine, how she's developed (lots of comparisons with her freshman and sophomore years to now), the pressures of playing at 1 and her spotify playlist among other things in the first episode of this great podcast with ITA student-athletes. It was an interesting and enjoyable listen I'd thoroughly recommend.

As for her future, she says she is considering doing a Masters and is talking to universities in the UK with Bath or Loughborough possibles, but will definitely give going pro a go.
