Week 24 - WTA250 Nottingham, UK - Grass

What a fantastic day of tennis. All four semi-finalists come out of this with buckets of credit for the quality of their tennis and sporting ethos.

Also was so lovely so hear the magnanimous words exchanged at the end of both semis. Makes a pleasant change from a volcanic eruption over the victor having the temerity to breathe. (NB to the resident lawyer for the badly behaved, I am aware that is hyperbole)

Fantastic play today from our girls. Entertaining tennis that was a joy to watch. No idea who will win tomorrow. Just hope it's a good final and a springboard onto more good results for all our women.

A career high for whoever wins tomorrow. Personally I think Jodie has had a much tougher draw so think she deserves it.

The WTA think that the singles final is on Centre Court at 11am, with the doubles final on Court 1. The ATP think the men's final is on Center Court also at 11am (scheduling of both in anticipation of the weather). So I guess it is tune in and see !

Women's final is second on Centre NB 1pm

Shame not to have the ladies doubles on centre, but with weather and the potential for two long singles finals I understand the scheduling.

I expect the WTA will update their website before play starts !

Loved watching the matches today. I think Im rooting for Katie purely as think shell have less chances in future than Jodie.

Surely with the first all-British WTA final since 1977 the beeb could move the coverage to BBC2 instead of the RB like they did for the BJK Cup?

A bit disappointed for Lissey and Liv although they are already having a better grass court season than last year.

They have rearranged the schedule due to forecast of heavy rain late afternoon

Hev and Harriet recovered from a break down to lead 6-5 40-0*, but missed all 4 set points (mostly well saved to be fair).

They lose the tiebreak 8-6. Shame as they are the better pair to me.

Take the second set 7-5. Eikeiri got upset about a clearly correct overrule on break point.

6-7(6) 7-5 0-0*

Real shame

Very close

But I do think the NOR/EST pair played a better MTB

Poor Harriet looked a gutted with her last volley (and the bad smash)
