Week 24 - WTA250 Nottingham, UK - Grass

Good stat that. Just backs up what a superb week it has been. Some truly fantastic tennis from many of our players, particularly in the clutch. Have to relish these weeks when they come around, its been a true honour to follow this tournament.

Nottingham must be bursting with pride at the British success this year and with Andy participating the stands have looked packed every day this year.

GB no.1 still could go to any of the three.

Jodie admitted she was exhausted, so she will be the underdog.
Not much to choose between Hev and Katie, although Katie has a point to prove (local tournament, desperate to get her ranking back close to her CH)

Normally a loss making event. Good weather and decent crowds may cut the LTA's losses significantly

Ooooo a little bit of digging and apparently theres long lasting animosity between Dart and Boulter AND they dont follow eachother on Instagram. Whew the drama of it all!!! Hahaha

But heather played really well! When shes on her game is genuinely a really gooood watch. So let me back hev against Katie, sorry Boulter!

I think it will be a Cornet - Boulter final. And difficult to see past the Frenchwoman really. But who knows! If only Katie S has managed to put her out in round 1!

And I was so worried that Jodie would be nowhere close to covering her Ilkley final points!

Wow, what a day and what a transformation from French clay to British grass !!

Pity that Harriet apparently misinterpreted Katie B's forehead gesture ( thanks Nix for the info re her previously doing it and your thoughts on it make perfect sense to me ).

just watched the highlights on the BBC of all 3 of these matches:

- Heather, just knew how to move so much better than Golubic, she had grass movement to a tee; beautiful lob, Murray-esque, near the end!
- Jodie - used the court well, drop shotted, volleyed, moved her opponent round - confident final set.
-Katie v Harriet - Katie's forehand was enormous today, is it always like that - impressive. Nothing wrong with her forehead tapping at the end, that was about herself saying she had toughness, nothing to do with Harriet and Harriet was too touchy by far; it wasnt unprofessional at all and anyone saying Harriet had a point needs to watch the end of the highlights again.

Katie v Heather will be a very interesting match - Katie will win and play Cornet in the final, I would reckon. Hope all of them, incl Harriet, are in Birmingham, I see Katie Swan has gone to Italy and the grass 125 event there

I remember an article a few years ago that alluded to a feud between two British players, perhaps they meant Katie and Harriet?
