Week 24 - WTA250 Nottingham, UK - Grass

Super! Must be up there with her best wins by opponents ranking.

Very impressive performance from Harriet. Aces and big first serves when needed, super defence to stay in rallies then came up with an aggressive forehand to win the point. A few careless errors in the last few games, one on bp and another on her first match point but still did enough to get the win. Kalinina started slowly, then raised her level to make the 2nd set competitive.

As it was in her last match. Linette has not won a main draw match at Wimbledon in 5 attempts. This is winnable. Come on Jodie, settle down.

Harriet and Katie B match will be for the British number one spot next week, unless Heather or Jodie have an amazing week, that is.

Boulter takes first set 7-5. Who's the commentator who can't pronounce the letter r?

Seriously does anyone know who this commentator is. I think hes awful. I switched to the BBC hoping it would be someone else but sadly not.

Gosh have we ever had 4 women in the quarters of a WTA before?

As brittak said on the wilcard thread, maybe it's all working out rather well, having a royal bunfight for that last wildcard spot

Maybe we should threaten to not give one of our leading players a Wimbledon MD WC every year !

Ha, similar thoughts.

When it's good, it's really quite good. Settled down well there and deserved the set. Keep the foot down now!!
