Week 24 - WTA250 Nottingham, UK - Grass

Not sure but I wish he said Jodie rather than Burrage in the match on Tuesday.

in the spirit of fairness, good on him for embracing this role.

Just like in the first set instead of taking the initiative and going 3-0 Katie makes a series of silly mistakes and is down a break 2-1. Not good match play and making things harder on herself

Katie can you cut out all these unforced errors....

There is a top 100 place if you can do it...

RainDelay, you might be mistaken in believing there was a correlation. Blood pressure increases with every heartbeat, and then falls before the next. Anyhow, why are you measuring your blood pressure all the time, there's tennis to watch?

Decent win. That chair umpire overrule at 4-3* 0-15 on the Snigur serve in the favour of Boulter seemed remarkable to me. I have seen nuclear meltdowns over less, but Snigur just shrugged.

She didn't shake her hand at the end though so I think she was miffed.

Well done Katie. I mean she could have won it 6-2 6-2 in 45 minutes if she'd controlled the aggression a bit better on return and stopped making so many stupid errors, but she won in the end. Great stuff and covered the points she was dropping.

Great work from Katie to close that down in straight sets.

Harriet playing well and off to a great start against Kalinina, and is two breaks up.

[5] Anhelina Kalinina UKR 0-4* [Q] Harriet Dart GBR

Super impressive, pressuring play from Harriet and she bagels the fifth seed in 23 minutes.

[5] Anhelina Kalinina UKR 0-6 0-0* [Q] Harriet Dart GBR

An almost flawless first set from Dart 6-0. Didnt lose a point on serve in that set, doesnt happen too often!

Kalinina was *terrible* against NPD in round one, only saved by the Spaniard (who was also pretty poor) choking away the first set and combusting.

The Ukrainian really hasn't had a good year at all, and is one of those players I always do a double take when I see there ranking, as I still remember her mostly as slugging it out in the 80-130 range and her massive rise totally passed me by as she's never done well at a Slam (only got to round 3 once) and has no Main Tour titles (just a 125k).
