Week 24 - ATP Challenger 125 - Rothesay Open - Nottingham, Great Britain (grass)

Final on at 11am. Bit odd

It will be because of the forecast which is pretty bad later on. Womens doubles was meant to be first on but theyve moved that to an outside court and they probably cant move the womens singles final as it is a main tour event so there will be broadcast agreements in place.

Andy would have been 3rd on if it wasnt for the weather.

Well the WTA think that their singles final is also on Centre Court at 11am, with the doubles final on Court 1. So I guess it is tune in and see !

Final:  (WC) Jacob Fearnley & Johannus Monday UNR (0+510) defeated Liam Broady & Jonny O'Mara CR 568 (423+145) by 6-3 6-7(6) [10-7]

And the youngsters pull it off, preventing the old timers from winning their second successive title!  Jake & JoMo biggrin

Lots of congrats to Edinburgh's Merchiston Tennis academy, Nathan Lundy, Marcel du Coudray, and - of course - Tennessee and Texas college programmes

Andy got a break of serve early, breaks a second time to go 4-1. Looking good.

Andy will be back into the top 40 for the first time in over 5 years. Live ranked 38. Great effort, sir.

The match was not a great watch but it's the result that matters, well done Andy.

And up to 27 in the race as well. So if he doesnt win the 2 or 3 rounds at Queens to be seeded at Wimbledon, he will have a good chance to be there for the US Open.

I fear Andy will just miss out on a Wimbledon seeding. His match against De Minaur is not a given by any means. But so good to see him picking up titles again and did anyone else see how emotional he was when he learnt that his wife and kids were there to see him win. What a Happy Father's Day for Sir Andy.

Berrettini and Auger Aliassime have both pulled out of Queens and Halle respectively. Must both therefore be doubts for Wimbledon. Carreno Busta will be out so potentially a 35 ranking may suffice. Its all going to hinge on the Di Minaur match I think. I wonder if he will start to feel pressure because of that.

So 2 wins at Queens will give Andy a seeding I would think.

Interesting that Struff a set up in his final may about to go top 20 at the age of 33, that might be some sort of record. Might not be a stat for that but the way hes going top 16 isnt too far away.
