It's not even that sad, really

It was such an amazing night, and he was SO never going to beat Rune, not in the first place, and not ever now, after the five-setter

I think he thought he'd stop, in the glory light, and not go out with a fizzle

And go and watch his wife, instead

Apparently it was a wrist injury, but he expects to be able to play in the grass season.

Yes, I know - I added it above, just to be clear - but my point was it's not sad, really, he's on such a high, still, it doesn't really matter

Indeed ! do you think this will be his last French Open or, indeed , last season? Or might he try to make it to Paris Olympics next season - would he get picked?

Sinner has gone out in a 5 setter against Daniel Altmaier , who reached the Madrid last 8 a couple of weeks ago. Big upset

Yes, pleased for Norrie

Lucas Pouille has had a great tournament, all things considered. Norrie deserved this one.

Mind you, France's mega woes continue.

Despite 'Le Monf's' most amazing comeback last night (he was lying on the court, crying his eyes out like a baby ), there's barely anyone left.

Young Luca Van Assche (who's doing Maths at uni in Paris) is two sets down at the moment. Moutet will be irritating but surely doesn't stand much chance against Rublev. And Gael will be on one leg tomorrow.

There's a very very good chance there won't be a single Frenchman in R3....

(and the women is hardly any better....)

Rinderknech has Fritz tomorrow, possible upset chance there I think?

No.  Fritz won in four.

Well, thats France over and out.

Somewhere in one of these threads , maybe in Indian wells or Liam
Or somewhere , I predicted an American semi finalist in Paris - could still happen. Fritz , or Tiafoe or Giron , a few left . And I said Jamie could do good things in doubles on clay, Im waiting on him coming good for me as well!

One will surely come good, haha. I am Mother Shipton, not!

Yep. Their worst performance since...... 2021

It's just a complete cauchemar for the French - everyone ranting about the dire state of French tennis

Although there's quite a funny one going around - there's a 25k in France this week, in Carnac, for men, and all 8 quarter-finalists are French

So there's been a fan 'revolt', with tredning: "Come and support tennis at Carnac - at least you get French guys - AND a sausage sandwich and a beer for 6 euros !"

Musetti looks a formidable natural talent at 21yo.

Cam struggling to settle, fourth game before he gets one on the board.

6-1, 4-2 to the Italian who looks like he's enjoying his tennis; for Cam it looks like hard work out there.

I trust Cam to keep fighting to the last though he hasn't had a single break point in this match and has a small hill to climb from a break down in the third set, but Cam won't quit trying.

If Cam can come through this third set now he has broken back I quite fancy him to take the match, It looks like Musetti has tightened up, he's not enjoying it so much now, his first serves are down, he has served his first double fault of the match.

It's all on this third set for me, Norrie serving at 4 all.

Fair play to Musetti he turned it back on when the winning line was in sight, how he hits the ball with such accuracy whilst running full pelt is a sight to behold.
