Yes, I'm back. Had a great time in Andalusia, traveled a lot, saw lots of country, castles and white towns.
Well done to you and Wolf (and any others) for keeping the posts going. I updated my spreadsheet yesterday to see what had been happening. I do the posts by copying and pasting from the ITF draw sheets so they come out a little differently but it saves typing out all these pesky surnames !
Em and Mariana took the first set 6-3. They broke at the start of the second, but after going *0-40 down recovered to deuce only to lose it with a frustrating mistake. That's given their opponents a second wind and this looks like going to a MTB.
Woohoo! Always nudging ahead but never in clear water, a superb get by Mariana out wide gets them 3 match points. A huge serve from Gjorcheska that Em barely gets her ranking on gives Herdzelas an easy smash but she rushes and nets.
Argh, broken from *40-15 to drop the opening set 7-5. Tiebreak would have definitely been a 50/50 effort so that was a shame it came unstuck in those final few points.
Had a deuce point for a double break in the second but their opponents get a very handy net cord that pops the ball up and over Em's racket. Not much you can do about that.
